Adopt A Classroom For The Holidays!
If you're looking for a different idea for a holiday gift this year, why not adopt a classroom?
AdoptAClassroom.org is the perfect way to thank a teacher for all the ways they give back during the school year, and you can choose which class to adopt. If a school isn't available in the list, you can simply mentioned AdoptAClassroom to your favorite teacher or school and ask them to join! (It's free)
For as little as $20, 100 percent of the donated funds are immediately available for the teacher to shop online for classroom supplies from a network of more than 40 vendors. This isn't an impersonal gift, either - donors receive personal feedback from the teacher and students about the impact of their donation, including an impact report generated as soon as the teacher makes an online purchase that details how their contribution was used, item-by-item, dollar-for-dollar.
If you haven't heard of this stat before, 91 percent of teachers buy basic school supplies for their students. Longtime readers all know my mother in law is a teacher, and I can attest to just how much money out of her own pocket she spends on making her classroom the best she can. She's always off at Walmart or Sam's Club picking up something it seems to add to a lesson course. In the past, she's picked up everything from snacks to books and even educational DVD's.

I just came across your blog. This is a wonderful idea. As a teacher I spend a large amount of money every year on my classroom and my students and a gift like this is always welcome. I love reading your blog! Keep the reviews and the great advice coming!
