Blu-Ray Review: Secret Of The Wings

My family and I recently received a copy of the newest CGI animated Disney release Secret Of The Wings: Flitterrific Fairies Double Pack to review.

Introducing a new and very special fairy named Periwinkle, Secret Of The Wings has Tinker Bell doing what she does best: disobeying orders. ;) The Winter Woods is a forbidden place for the warm season Fairies like Tink, Fawn, and Silvermist, but Tink ends up crossing the border anyways - where she discovers a magical secret that changes her life - and others - forever.

Chock full of special voice actors and actresses like Anjelica Huston, Timothy Dalton, and Lucy Liu, the straight to DVD release of the Secret Of The Wings is sure to make any fairy loving little girl giddy with glee. It's perfect for bringing in the upcoming winter season, and it even has some rather amusing parts for us parents who are watching it alongside the kiddos. ;) My daughter was just oohing and ahhing over the fairies in this one, and can't wait for winter snow to arrive (unlike me, who is cringing just thinking about that awful white stuff - the magic is long gone for me! lol)

This four disc combo pack contains the Blu-Ray version of the film, the DVD, a digital copy of the film, and the 3D version of the film. This is great, because you only have to buy this movie once and you can watch it on pretty much any device your child would like to see it on! Plus, if you upgrade to a better viewing system such as a 3D TV down the road, you won't have to worry about re-purchasing the title.

There are several bonus features included: both the Blu-Ray and the DVD discs contain a 22 minute bonus adventure called "Pixie Hollow Games", a music video called "Great Divide" performed by the McClain sisters, a second music video called "Dig Down Deeper" performed by Zendaya (this song is featured in the bonus adventure), and a Pixie Preview called "Fright Light".

Don't forget, this set contains a code for the Disney Movie Rewards points program, so make sure you enter it in if you're collecting them. The discs also contain the Fast Play option, which is a navigation utility that automatically starts the disc as soon as it's put in the player and pretty much remembers your viewing preferences. You can also receive a free bonus charm with your purchase of the set, just pay shipping and handling. It makes a cute little stocking stuffer!

By the way, if you are looking for a little fun free entertainment this weekend, check out this button below for some activities to host a pumpkin party with Tink:

Secret Of The Wings: Flitterrific Fairies Double Pack is available now wherever DVD's are sold. Rated G, it is widescreen format, and has a total running time of 75 minutes long. The suggested retail price is $49.99, but Amazon has it available for $27.99 as of this posting.

I received a copy of this DVD in order to view it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own.

Timothy Dalton did you say? After Tommy Lee Jones, he happens to be my favourite actor! Thanks for sharing,
