Book Review: Edge Of Oblivion By J.T. Geisssinger

I recently received a copy of the new book Edge Of Oblivion: A Night Prowler Novel by J.T. Geisssinger to review.

Morgan Montgomery is an Ikati shape-shifter who has been branded a traitor by her tribe. Sitting in prison and expecting to die, she is startled when the chance to live is offered to her by her former ally (now Queen) Jenna: all she must do is infiltrate the Rome headquarters of the Ikati's ancient enemy, the Expurgari, in under two weeks - or forfeit her life. To be sure the job is done, Ikati's most feared enforcer, Xander Luna, travels with her. If she doesn't get the job done, his orders are to kill her immediately. He is fiercely loyal to the Ikati tribe, and though he is prepared to hate this traitor, something begins to stir. Will Morgan and Xander complete the job before danger takes their lives, and with something so much more brewing on the horizon between them?

This is book two in the Night Prowler series. If you've read the first book, Shadow's Edge, you've already been introduced to Morgan's character. You can skip ahead to this book if you'd like without reading the first one, but I have to say you'll appreciate knowing more details of the Ikati tribe and the backstory if you read the series starting with book one. Book 2 also introduces us to more characters that you'll see in the next book of the series.

Now, to go more on this book, I enjoyed reading it. I felt that the author really took her time in setting up through the story and letting the story unfold - which for some books would be boring, not for this one! The story really delves deep into the Ikati world, explaining more about the shape-shifters, the hierarchy, their abilities, and so on. If you enjoy dark paranormal romances, I think you'll enjoy this book (and this series). I would almost say that I would love to see it turned into a series of movies, but I'm afraid they would not give the author's writing justice!

Vist the author's website here.

Edge Of Oblivion: A Night Prowler Novel by J.T. Geisssinger is a paperback paranormal romance book published by Montlake Romance. It is 412 pages long. The suggested cover price is $12.95, but Amazon has it available for $7.77 as of this posting. It is also available as an e-book for the Kindle and other e-readers.

I received a copy of this book in order to read it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own, and not that of the author(s) or publisher.
