The Pound Puppies over at Shelter 17 are on a mission to find good homes for all the homeless pups that come through the door: A pup for every person, and a person for every pup! This reboot of the popular 80's Hasbro cartoon show and toys brings back all the nostalgia for those of us who now are moms! Lucky, Squirt, Niblet, Strudel, and Cookie are the main pups whose sworn mission is to find homes for all the doggies in need. Sometimes they need a little backup help from the younger pups, and that's when Cupcake, Patches, and rebound from the Super Secret Pup Club step in to save the day!
This DVD includes five episodes: "Bone Voyage", "Mutternal Instincts", "The Fraud Princess", "Super Secret Pup Club", and "Ruff Ruff Bunch". The DVD also includes a bonus feature, called "Learn How To Draw Rebound", where kids can learn the basics of drawing this pup.
My daughter just loves this show, so I'm glad to see another release from Shout Factory available for her to watch. It's cute, and since it's focused on saving animals, you know I give my parental seal of approval for this one! (Plus, Betty White does a character voice!)
Pound Puppies: Super Secret Pup Club will be available on DVD this coming Tuesday, October 16th, 2012. Rated TV-Y7, and full screen format, the total running time is about two hours long. The suggested retail price is $12.99, but Amazon has it available on pre-order for $9.99 as of this posting.
I received a copy of this DVD in order to watch it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own.
