The first item I received to try was the Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. I am very picky with my makeup removers, because it has to take off everything I'm wearing, and quickly at that. This is made with Cucumber, Vitamin E and other botanicals, and removes waterproof and non-waterproof eye makeup. It has an easy to use pop top, or you can just unscrew the lid if you'd like. To use, make sure you shake this VERY well - the solution is two part. (I was so tired the first night I went to use it that I thought DH or the kiddo had been in it and spilled half the bottle until I remembered it needed to be shaken! lol) I was surprised when using it - it almost felt like I wasn't using anything at all! I could barely feel it on my skin. It did take several wipes to get all of my make up off sometimes, but that's probably because of the heavier eye makeup I was using those times. All in all, I really liked this Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, and it will continue to be in my makeup trunk from now on! It retails for $19.
The next product I tried was the Loose Mineral Shadow Liner in Azabache. It's a smoky dark grey, almost black. I LOVE color pigment jars, so you know I was itchin' to try this one out as soon as it arrived! As with just about any color pigment, you can apply this one dry as an eyeshadow blend, or use a wet thin brush to apply it as an eyeliner. I was a little surprised the first time I tried this one as to how sparkly it was - it's definitely a very glam color, perfect for going out to dinner or to the theater. (not to the grocery store as I was doing that day! LOL!) I preferred it as an eyeliner myself, but it was fun to use as a shadow too. This retails for $14.
The last product I tried was the Perfecting Finish Mineral Loose Powder Foundation in Savanna. This powdery foundation is fragrance free and oil free, and safe for folks with sensitive skin. It even contains Vitamin A, C and E. As with all loose powder foundations, your most important tool to get it to look right is your brush. I found it easy to blend into my skin, and unlike most liquid foundations, you don't even remember you are wearing this. Plus, it was the perfect shade for my skin - which is hard to do when you're buying online unless you've bought that shade in the past. I quickly feel in love with this one too. This retails for $18.
All three of the Mia Mariu products I tried were made here in the USA. The one thing I could not find while searching their website and reading the boxes of the products I tried, was whether or not their products are tested on animals. According to the contact at their company, they don't, which is good to know.
