Review: New BabyLit Books - Dracula & A Christmas Carol

We love books around here, and reading is very important in my family. There's two new books to the BabyLit series, and boy, can I ever say I was jumping for joy when I saw the titles! For those unfamiliar with the BabyLit series (you can read my past review here), this wonderful series brings classic writers to toddlers by creating oversized board books with bright colors and easy to understand words. Written by Jennifer Adams and illustrated by Alison Oliver, the series turns classic stories into counting primers or share important words that sum up the story.

The newest additions have arrived just in time for the upcoming holidays: Little Master Stoker: Dracula and Little Master Dickens: A Christmas Carol. Yes, be still my gothic heart! DRACULA for toddlers! This one is a counting primer, filled with spooky tombstones and coffins. Words cannot even begin to describe my glee when we sat down and read this one! A Christmas Carol is a colors primer, and shows off items like a purple drink, black hat, and green wreath. It's a lovely book to bring in the joy of Christmas and introduce this wonderful holiday tale to little ones.

I know I am gushing, but I highly recommend the BabyLit series of books as the perfect gift for little ones this holiday season - and a wonderful shower or birthday gift for those who love books as much as we do. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that we will be introduced to an Edgar Allen Poe book down the road. ;)

The suggested cover price for each of the BabyLit books is $9.99 each. Several of the books are now available for the iPad and iPhone, for reading on the go. Published by Gibbs-Smith, you can purchase the books at your favorite bookstore, or online via sites like Amazon.

I received the books mentioned above in order to read them and share my thoughts on them. All opinions are my own, and not that of the author(s) or publisher.
