DVD Review: Monsuno: Destiny

My family and I recently received a copy of the new animated DVD Monsuno: Destiny to review.

A new series that airs on NickToons, Monsuno is a series geared more towards boys ages 6 and up where teenagers named Chase, Jinja, and Bren discover, command, and battle creatures with re-awakened Monster DNA. It's a race to harness the power of Monsuno between the teens - who are also in search Chase's father Jeredy Suno, who created the Monsuno - and evil forces bent on destroying Earth. The show has some animated violence. As a parent, it honestly blends into about five other shows for me, but boys seem to love it.

This is the first ever DVD from this series, and it contains the first five episodes: "Clash", "Courage", "Underground", "Wicked", and "Knowledge". In "Clash", Chase, Jinja, and Bren discover that Chase's father is missing, and learn to use their Monsunos. Here is a clip from the show:

Monsuno: Destiny will be available on DVD this coming Tuesday, January 8th, 2013. Rated TV-Y7-FV, the total running time is 110 minutes long. The suggested retail price is $14.97, but Amazon has it available on pre-order for $12.99 as of this posting.
