Review: Fiber One Protein Bars

Looking for a filling snack for on the go that's got protein and fiber in it? Look no further than the new Fiber One Protein Bars. These chocolate-y snack bars are geared to help you satisfy those afternoon cravings, while adding fiber and protein to your diet - and it's a little more nutritious than most of the vending machine and checkout lane choices.

Available in Caramel Nut and Coconut Almond flavors, these individually wrapped bars have between 6-7 gram of protein each, as well as 20% of your daily fiber intake. They won't destroy your diet either, as they range in calories from 130 (Caramel Nut) to 140 (Coconut Almond).

I was sent on over several of each flavor to try out for myself. I let DH help. ;) They are a chewy bar, coated in chocolate and filled with nuts. Both of us preferred the Coconut Almond, but if you love Caramel you will probably enjoy the Caramel Nut flavor just as much. While I tend to make homemade snacks for us at home, DH still needs on the go snack for at work, so I like knowing he is getting protein and fiber in his daily food intake if he decides to snack on these.

You can find new Fiber One Protein Bars at your favorite local grocery store, like the Safeway family of stores, with a suggested retail price of $4.19 for a 5 count box. (A little high, I'll admit.) Keep your eyes open for coupons and sales to bring that price down, and stock up then!

I received samples of the product mentioned above in order to try them out and share my thoughts on them. All opinions are my own, and not that of Fiber One or General Mills.

Thanks for the great review. The price is a little high, but coupons and sales would help. I'm glad to know you and your husband liked them.
