DVD Review: Clifford The Big Red Dog: Celebrate With Clifford

My family and I recently received a copy of the new animated DVD Clifford The Big Red Dog: Celebrate With Clifford to review.

Did you know it's Clifford the Big Red Dog's birthday? It's not just any birthday either - he's celebrating his 50th birthday! The beloved children's book series has been enjoyed by several generations now, and it's also become one of the longest running children's television series. This is the first DVD release for the series in two years.

Included on this DVD are seven festive stories: "The Best Gift", "Clifford's Carnival", "Clifford On Parade", "Screaming For Ice Cream", "Clifford the Pirate King", "Team Spirit", and "Tough Enough". It also contains five bonus speckle stories - speckles are the very short stories Emily Elizabeth reads Clifford, just in case you didn't know, featuring dogs, of course!

We love Clifford around here. Not only does it bring back fond memories for both DH and I, but the books and the story episodes are easy to follow along with. This DVD makes an excellent tie-in for a Clifford book reading marathon with your kid(s)!

By the way, there is also a bonus disc with eight additional episodes included in the dvd case. Click here for six different Clifford activity sheets to keep kids entertained on rainy days. And here is a clip from the DVD:

Clifford The Big Red Dog: Celebrate With Clifford is available now wherever children's DVDs are sold. Full screen format, it is not rated, but safe for all ages. The total running time is 77 minutes long. The suggested retail price is $14.98, but Amazon has it available for $10.83 as of this posting.

I received a copy of this DVD in order to view it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own.
