Review: Yoplait Greek Yogurt

Do you enjoy eating Greek style yogurt? If you do, then you'll probably enjoy new Yoplait Greek yogurt. After speaking with ordinary grocery store consumers like you and I, Yoplait discovered that we all want one thing for our Greek style yogurt: a great taste! They turned around and used that knowledge for their Yoplait Greek yogurt.

Available in Blueberry, Coconut, Pineapple, Strawberry Raspberry, Tangerine and Vanilla, these 5.3 oz containers all contain 150 calories or less per serving and 100% more protein than regular yogurt. Unlike some of the other brands of Greek yogurt available on the market, Yoplait Greek yogurt is a blended style so you'll get a delicious taste that's the same bite after bite.

I was lucky enough to receive some of the new Yoplait Greek yogurt to try out in my own home. They sent me on over both the Tangerine and the Pineapple varieties. We enjoy Greek style yogurt (especially DH). While the Yoplait Greek contains blended fruit, there's no fruit chunks throughout these two varieties of yogurt (hence, the blended). Actually, the tangerine flavor uses a juice concentrate and orange pulp. Hmm. The first ingredient on the fruit blend ingredient was sugar, too, and there's plenty of modified corn starch. Pretty much ditto on the pineapple, although sugar was second on the fruit blend list. It is gluten free, and gelatin free so that's a good thing. It's also fat free if you are watching your fat content for any dietary restrictions.

If you're just looking for a yummy tasting Greek yogurt, then definitely try out the Yoplait Greek yogurt because these taste pretty good. But if you're paying a bit more attention to ingredients, this might be one to skip.

You can find new Yoplait Greek at your favorite local grocery and big box store over in the dairy case. They have a suggested retail price of $1.29 each, but keep your eyes peeled for coupons and sales.

I received complimentary samples of the product mentioned above in order to try them out and share my thoughts on them. All opinions are my own.
