Catch A Christmas Carol – The Concert On PBS Today!

My family and I were lucky enough to receive a complimentary DVD copy of A Christmas Carol: The Concert, which will be airing on Public Television on December 20th, 2013. (Here in the Seattle area, you'll find it over on KCTS, with a replay on Christmas day, 12/25)

Arya Daire as "Belle, Kyle Scatliffe as "The Ghost Of Christmas Past" and Scrooge.

(Hey, that dress looks pretty similar to one of mine!)

Featuring a full symphony orchestra, choir, rhythm section, a Narrator, and three soloists, A Christmas Carol: The Concert is the classic Charles Dickens holiday tale performed as a dramatic concert that was filmed before a live audience. The brand new score by Bob Christianson and Alisa Hauser features different musical styles and songs that range from classical and broadway, to blues and gospel. It gives it a completely different sound than any other musical version of A Christmas Carol, and that's what makes it so wonderful! My family really enjoyed getting to watch it, especially since with DH so busy working this month we're unable to really attend anty holiday productions. On our big screen with the home theater speakers set up, it was the next big thing to seeing it in person!

Pull out the holiday cookies, pour yourself a glass of eggnog or hot chocolate, and check your local PBS station to be sure of what time A Christmas Carol: The Concert - and don't miss it! If you don't have access to PBS in your area, you can also purchase a copy of the DVD via their website.

I received a complimentary copy of this DVD in order to view it and share my thoughts on it. All opinions are my own.
